Video Game Saga *

Hot on the trail of the new Twisted Metal game, Sony Pictures will be bringing the franchise to the big screen. Sony has signed on Brian Taylor (Crank, Gamer, Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance) to write and direct the movie for a budget of 7 figures. Spider-Man producer Avi Arad has also signed on to produce. The movie will focus on key characters from series including: Sweet Tooth and Doll Face. Like the game, there will be an underground event held by Calypso where contestants battle to the death in vehicles sporting heavy fire power. The winner will get one wish granted by Calypso.  

Twisted Metal is one of many video game franchises with huge movie potential. I mean my god just watch the live action cut scenes from the new game and tell me it don't give you goosebumps! Tell me it doesn't have you cheering on a feature film. Hell I'm just fine with them filming in the same style of the cut scenes from the game, that's how freaking awesome they are. No matter which direction the movie takes, Sony has a strong story, a dedicated fan base and a director who is no stranger to the action genre. Twisted Metal the movie has jumped to the top of our charts. Bring on the carnage!
