Here is a quick byte of news from last week courtesy of PizzaNinja:

This week Electronic Arts beat their quarterly estimates of 83 cent a share. They reported an earning of 87 cents a share. This was helped largely by their new Star Wars MMO that has already accumulated an 1.5 million users. It will be interesting to see what else they have in store for the rest of the year to continue to make money. Also, how big can Star Wars get and how long will it be a steady stream of income?

Valve has a new free app for Steam. with the app you are able to chat with your friends, browse communit group and profiles, read the latest gaming new, and stay up to date on Steam sales. This is just the first step in being able to download and play games on your smart phone, ipad, and other mobile devices.

If anyone likes mixing electronic gaming with card/board games then you are in luck. Wizards of the Coast has released the Maigic: The Gathering Toolbox. This app is free and allows users some of the following options: card searches, deck builds, article reader, event calendar and store locator. You can also keep track of life totals using the app. Updates may charge a small fee but for now the app is free to download and use.

Thanks for stopping by for a quick byte.

I think it is interesting with EA reaching such a feat with Star Wars. It takes little thought to realize that EA and Star Wars (moreso than EA) are huge icons nowadays. I admit, not everybody is interesting in either of the two entities, but it is great to see EA do justice with one of the most revered iconic film series in the world.

You know you are getting old when you have to explain how to use a VCR to a group of five year olds.

I have not had a chance to download and use the MTG app yet.  If anyone has please let me know how it is.  I am hoping to get the chance to mess with it later this week.

TonyB did a review for Video Game Saga about Stubbs the Zombie.  Here is the link in case anyone would like to see the review.
