In celebration of The Simpson's upcoming 500th episode, everyones favorite arcade game from the 90's is coming to Xbox Live and PSN. The Simpson's Arcade Game is now available on Xbox Live for 800 Microsoft Points and will release on February 7, 2012 on PSN for $9.99. As an added bonus, fans can view classic flyers and posters specifically made for the game back in 1991.

"KONAMI is dedicated to reviving retro titles that gamers have grown to love, and it doesn't get any better than The Simpsons™ Arcade Game," said Tomoyuki Tsuboi, President of Konami Digital Entertainment, Inc. "The Simpsons is a global phenomenon with a loyal fan base, and we are thrilled to re-launch the arcade game in the downloadable space, introducing fans to a beloved classic on an entirely new platform."

"Of all The Simpsons video games, this demented classic is my favorite," said Matt Groening, The Simpsons Creator and Executive Producer.

This is very exciting news.  The Simpsons Arcade Game was one of my favorites to play at arcades.  Now I can play it again from the comfort of my own home.  Oh, and it only costing 1 roll of quaters as opposed to the many rolls of quaters I spent playing it in the arcade is going to save me a small fortune.

Maybe with that small fortune we can hope for some DLC.  That would be fun to see.

I'll have to pick this up too--my girls play the hell out of this game on the arcade cabinet.  I love the Bartman!

It's goofy but I liked playing as Marge.  Beating enemies down with the vacuum?  Classic.  I doubt it does, but does anyone know if this will have online multiplayer?
