You walk into a mom and pop store. There is a middle-aged man behind the counter who looks like he had a good night's rest. You are a videogame collector, or even just an enthusiast. So far your day is going just as usual- nothing out of the ordinary....

Then you spot something out of the corner of your eye. It is a videogame, but not just any video game. Heck it could even be a game system. Your gut instincts tell you to purchase it because it tells you it is rare/valuable/really fun. You are not sure though, you want to go home and look it up to make sure. Maybe check out a youtube video or two.

Alas you cave in and get the damn thing. You get lucky, maybe too lucky. Perhaps you just found a copy or Air Raid for $1.25, and you are gonna strike gold by morning. Perhaps you found your next favorite game/game system.

Has anybody ever had this happen? Or have you just plain knowingly nabbed a good deal while getting away with highway robbery?

If so share your stories about how you found your copy of Magical Chase for $3.98 at the flea market, or a Sega CD in box for $7.99.... the list goes on.... what have you found for a virtual steal?

What a fantastic post! I love when this happens, that deal of centuary where you walk away with one hell of a deal for one hell of a rare game. My most recent score was at a mom and pop, they had this wire cage containing a bunch of Sega Genesis games and below they had some Sega CD games. So at first I couldn't see the price on a Sega CD game called Crime Patrol so I asked the guy working to grab it for me and if he could check the price.

While at the counter, I catch the price tag out the corner my eye, it was small and on the spine but it said like $50 on it. So anyway the guy keeps checking in his computer system with no luck and finally is like hey man you can have the game for $1.99. In my head I was like score!!!! I bought it and walked away a very happy camper especially since the game is very rare and one of the rarest on the Sega CD =)

I had a Sega CD steal myself a month ago. I was at a local store about ten miles away from the University and they had a tremendous selection of games old and new. I'm looking through all the stuff, nothing really new to me. Then out of the deep blue is a MINT, SCRATCHLESS,  SCUFFLESS, COMPLETE copy of Earthworm Jim: Special Edition! I figured they were asking $60 for it because they often know what they have. Then I see the price tag, and I had to check for any other conflicting price tags just to be sure- are you ready for this?

$7.99! I DANCED to the counter and had no guilt. This was the deal of the day for me.

I've got plenty stories but I'd like to see what others have to say first. Also, great job with Crime Patrol, it ain't no Snatcher, but who is gonna gripe for that price huh? You got em' where it hurts.
