Video Game Saga *

I will finally be taking the plunge!  I was wondering what everyone's favorite games out there were for the PS3? 

It doesn't have to be all new stuff, I love me some budget titles.  My favorite genre is RPG, but I'm down to play almost anything, so long as it's good.

Even though they are not RPGs I enjoyed Mortal Kombat and Castlevania.

As for current RPGs you could check out Marel Ultimate Alliance 2 and Eternal Sonata.  I have not played Eternal Sonata but player reviews seem pretty positive.  If you are familiar with Atelier Iris games there is one on the PS3.  Though I have not played that one either.

I am looking forward to LOTR War in the North which comes out in August.  It is being made by Snowblind Studios which also made Champions of Norrath.  Shamless plug here:  Champions Article

TonyB were you interested in any download games?  I really enjoyed Castle Crashers and am looking to pick up Dungeon Hunter and Moon Diver.

Oh yeah, I am a huge fan of DL games.  Bionic Commando Rearmed is the chronic.  Thawnks for all the good suggestions man!

Ratchet and Clank series is good, but I have no idea if the new PS3 is backwards compatible.  God of Wars were pretty good.  It's nice to have a free network for multiplayer, when it works.  Just don't ever put your CC# on there.... as if anyone needs a reminder after that massive hack.

Only the original PS3 model was backwards compatible, but I have a PS2 so that's cool. lol Fair enough, it's pre paid cards from Gamestop for me, no way I'm putting my CC info up there now.

I took advantage of GameStops buy 2 get 1 free deal.  Picked up LEGO Harry Potter, Eternal Sonata, and Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2!  Can't wait to start playing.

Right on brotha! Congrats on your PS3 purchase, welcome aboard  You have accumulated a stellar selection of games there my friend, great start to your PS3 journey. If you get the time for an open ended game and if you like Grand Theft Auto, be sure to check out L.A. Noir  Also, Shadow of the Damned looks bad ass!

Catherine looks awesome!  I have not played the uncharted series, so I will definitely check it out.  Any particular standout PSN games you guys are playing?

Hey brotha, so what's the word, whatcha been playin lately on your PS3?

I can't wait for Lord of the Rings:  War in the North.  Usually they are not very good games but this one was being made by Snowblind Studios so that is the reason I really want to play it.

The second game I am keeping an eye on is Dragon's Crown.  It is by the same people that brought us Odin Sphere and Disgaea.  It will be a 4 player co-op dungeon crawl.  Can't wait.

Nice, Dragon's Crown sounds pretty sweet! Will it be a digital download only game?
