I mentioned this in another thread, and I thought some folks might have some funny stories about it.

"When I was 14 I lost all the money I had, 60 bucks, on a bet with Blaster Master.  My buddy bet me he could beat the whole game start to finish, in under 4 hours, with no deaths.  I was a sad panda when I lost that one."

Good or bad, win or lose, it doesn't have to about cash--what's your best win or loss on a video game bet?

My brother would occasional battle each other in a game in order to see who got to play a new game first.

Also, I'm an RA at my school and I know that some of my residents will play each other in video games in order to settle small arguements

What's their game of choice for "settling"?  Does it rotate depending on the severity of the arguement?  or is it always the same one?

I'll also add this.  Feel free to share a post, even if all you won was bragging rights--I shot my mouth off while playing Castlevania SOTN, and challenged PizzaNinja to beating the opening segment from Rondo of Blood, without getting a single hit.

On the spot and under the gun, he did it without any warm up.  In front of all my friends too!  I didn't lose a bet that night, but I lost my pride.

I never saw him play that game once, so I assumed he sucked.  I was wrong!

I forget which specific games, but they're all N64 ones.

I actually got really happy today when I got back from class and as I get off the elevator I hear Zelda's lulaby playing and find some of my residents in a different room playing OoT

Settling disputes by GoldenEye sounds like a great idea.  But NO ODDJOB.

I'd always get my friends angry when I played as Jaws and I still kicked their butts. Thing is that Jaws is just one big easy target, and Oddjob is an odd fellow. They'd play as odd job thinking they could beat me, they always lost no surprise.

Gosh it's been...... 3 or 4 years since I last played that game.

Right on Platinum.  Real gamers don't use Oddjob!

The SoTN skills I showed were pretty awesome that night.  :D

I was so drunk one night playing Golden Eye I could barely keep my eyes open.  I ended working an entire room of people and then was acused of cheating.  I simply said "my eyes are hardly open.  Not my fault you don't know how to play."  I love when people challenge others at games before actually watching how they play.

I played RBI Baseball 1 for the NES, winner had to keep drinking.  The great equalizer right?  I won a bunch of games fast because of the 9 run mercy rule--that got me pretty messed up.

I won so many in a row, I passed out.  The last game I played, I had to be told later I won, cause I didn't even remember it.

Golden Eye was so fun, played that multiplayer for hours.  To me, it's the #1 multiplyer 64 game, hands down.

A friend of mine use to have XBOX parties back before the 360 came out and before they got live. They'd invite friends of the family and others over to play multiplayer.

Often they'd all get drunk and have to take care of business in the mens room. Sooooooo my friend studied this pattern, theyd always RUN to the bathroom. So he eventually got wise to this pattern and so he sprayed PLEDGE on the hardwood floor next to his bathroom.

You can figure out the rest for yourself.

Nothing like tossing some pledge on the floor and watching drunk people slide by a destination and try to make a smooth recovery.

I think Golden Eye had to be one of my, it not most favorite game on the N64.  I could play that for hours.  I liked Perfect Dark, but definitly not as good as Golden Eye.

Did you have an official game that it was GO TIME when you and your bother played as kids?

There was no one official game for my brother and I.  Usually it ened up being either NES baseball or double dribble.  But once we got Baseball Stars consider it game on!  Tecmo Super Bowl did make quite a few appearances as well.

A couple weeks ago I won a $25 gift card for playing in a video game challenge with some friends.  We all got to pick a game we thought no one else in the room could beat us at and if you won your game you got to go to the final round which was a mystery game that our host picked out.  The host picked a game that none of us had played or those that had played did not play it for quite some time.  There were some pretty funny moments from the competition and can't wait for the next one.

A couple years back I made a bet with a buddy of mine. I claimed he could not win in a match against me in SSBB, I won. What was my prize? Six Sega Genesis games.

I do have another related story, but not about a bet. Last year I traded my last airsoft P90 to him for a Model 2 Genesis, two controllers, hookups, and about 40 games. He knew it was a steal on my part but to equalize I had to walk down the street about a quarter mile to my pickup truck carrying everything in barbie backpacks.
