Video Game Saga *

Just thought some folks might like to know that Yahoo! is reporting that 2 main characters will be missing from the next 'Pirates' movie.

Orlando Bloom and Keira Knightly have decided not to renew their roles in the 'Pirates' franchise.  I for one am not a huge fan of either one of them in this series, but I will be curious to see what direction the film goes without them.

Anyone else have thoughts or reactions on these two not coming back to their roles?

You know, I am not really a fan...  But the Pirates series is Disney's most lucrative franchise so they are gonna milk it forever.  Geoffrey Rush FTW though, he's awsome as Barbosa.

So with the weakest characters gone, I guess this may make the series stronger.

Mr. Rush is great as Barbosa.  I also don't mind Depp doing what he do in the movies.  They are both good actors and most of the time they are just working with the writing they are given.  The story should be interesting considering what happened at the end of the last film.

I don't mind Disney milking the franchise as long as they put out some kind of quality.  Let's just hope this is better then the last attempt at the series.  Twilight gets four films so why can't Pirates get four? 

That's not a great anaolgy.  That's kinda like saying since we have 4 piles of poop over there, we need 4 piles of poop over here.

You are right Twilight is aweful!  But at least 'Pirates' is somewhat entertaining.  If you are looking for the good version of Twilight please enjoy Underworld.  Thank you!

I enjoyed Pirates 1 and 2, 3 to an extent. I mean, 3 got a little out of whack in the end.

I'll wait and see how this goes.

I'm gonna keep an open mind too, I mean I really like the franchise and truthfully I was always totally engrossed by Johnny Depp's awesome portrayal of Jack Sparrow so with Keira and Orlando gone I can still enjoy the series just don't touch Jack Sparrow's character or we're gonna have some words!

Im with ya all the way. Johnny Depp had an epic role as the one and only Captain Jack Sparrow, afterall, We'll all remember the days we ALMOST captured him.

Totally. "But you have heard of me, I'm Captain Jack Sparrow" Good stuff. Bring on Pirates 4!

Which reminds me, I went to see 3 when it came out at a drive-in theater. That was awesome.

I really enjoyed the first movie.  After that it just seemed like they were trying too hard.  Depp still has some good lines, but the story began to lack.

This movie is slated to come out this summer.  Good news for LEGO fans is LEGO Pirates of the Caribbean will have levels designed based on the new movie.  Can't wait to play the game and can't wait to see the movie.
