Tron Legacy Trailer 2

Posted by Video Game Saga on March 9, 2010 at 9:41 PM

For the past year I have been heavily following the production of Tron Legacy, the sequel to the 1982 cult classic film Tron directed by Steven Lisberger. While Lisberger is credited as a writer for Tron Legacy, he will not be directing the sequel. Instead, it will be directed by new comer Joseph Kosinski. However, we will be treated to the return of Jeff Bridges as Kevin Flynn, Bruce Boxleitner as Alan Bradley and as the new trailer shows us, Flynn's awesome 80's arcade is back as well! The story follows Sam Flynn, the tech-savvy 27-year-old son of Kevin Flynn, as he looks into his father's disappearance and finds himself pulled into the same world of fierce programs and gladiatorial games where his father has been living for 25 years. Along with Kevin's loyal confidant, father and son embark on a life-and-death journey across a visually-stunning cyber universe that has become far more advanced and exceedingly dangerous. The first teaser trailer debuted at last years comic con and has left fans in a frenzy, the new trailer released yesterday has left us going freaking crazy out of our minds. Check it out:

Now if you thought Avatar was bad ass in Imax 3D, can you imagine the eye candy we are in store for with Tron Legacy. I have been fascinated with Tron ever since I stumbled upon it on Laser Disc when I was like five years old. I have the awesome two-disc 20th Anniversary DVD special edition, a copy of the voice synthesis Tron Solar Sailer for the Intellivision signed by designer Keith Robinson and I have played the arcade games several times! To say I love Tron is an understatement. So you can imagine my heart racing last night when I was geeking out to the new Tron Legacy trailer. I am blown away by what's in store and December 17th can't get here soon enough for Tron junkies. What I am extremely happy to see is that even though the CGI Technology has advanced, the filmmakers have still kept true to the original source and style. I will be sporting a Tron T.Shirt waiting in line for the midnight showing :D

"Alan, you're acting like I'm gonna find him sitting there working. 'Hey kiddo, lost track of time.'"

"Wouldn't that be something..."

Bruce Boxleitner looks great (he is seriously 60 years old), way better than Bridges. He better be in this as TRON (not just as Alan or a cameo), or this is gonna be a massive fail. I'll give it a chance, but I hope they don't leave out the NAMESAKE of the original movie.

Wow bro, you bring up a very valid point that I haven't even thought about, what if Alan does not sport the out fit?... this will be very interesting to see. Luckily from the trailers, it gives me a pretty good vibe that we might get a surprise scene or something of Alan as Tron. Here is to hoping! That would rock!
