Halo Legends Anime Next Week

Posted by Video Game Saga on February 13, 2010 at 4:25 AM

Whether you are a Sony or Nintendo fan boy, there is no denying the temptation to play a Halo game on the Xbox 360. The franchise has sold units in earth shattering numbers and continues to get bigger with a cult following. Shhhh, don’t tell anyone but I have even got fan boys to make the jump over to Microsoft to play Halo and see what all the talk is about. That being said, I writing in excitement about the new Halo Legends anime that is releasing Tuesday February 16, 2010. Here is the synopsis:

“This 8 episode anthology of 10-15 minute length each, explores the origin and historical events of the HALO universe, and various characters inhabiting the world. Like Animatrix and Batman Gotham Knight, each of the 8 episodes will be created by a separate prominent Japanese anime producer.”

I love the idea of multiple directors contributing there style to a single project, look at how awesome Quinton Tarantino’s directing segment was in Robert Rodriguez’s Sin City. A similar approach was taken last week with the release of Dante’s Inferno an Animated Epic which featured 6 directors.

From the footage and trailers that are out there, Halo Legends looks to be a beautifully animated and breathtaking anime; Combining cartoon and CGI animation. I can’t wait to get my hands on a copy of this killer looking anime based on one of the most successful video games of all time.

IMDB Has this Rated 6.1 out of 10.

Looks like it got a decent early rating. A couple sites are saying that some of the individual segments are hit and miss, but overall it is worth watching.
