Today Apple announced their iPad device. At an Apple Press Conference, footage was shown of the iPad in action which seriously has left me impressed and wanting one of these babies for myself. So how will an iPad benefit us gamers you may be asking? Well, on the iPad's crisp 9.7 inch screen you can play all existing iPhone games in standard resolution or full screen. Two games will be coming soon that are designed specifically for the iPad which are Nova by Gameloft and EA's Need for Speed Shift HD. With the iPad gamers will benefit from a larger display, control scheme and more.

Truthfully the main thing I care about with the iPad is the gaming, the iPhone Games are really awesome and to play Metal Gear Solid on a 9.7 inch display is gonna kick some serious ass! Let's not forget all the other nifty features that the iPad boasts. Think of the iPad as Apple's version of a Netbook (which means it will not have phone capability), you can connect it to the internet via Wi-Fi and you can subscribe to a 3G Network. iBooks will be a new eReader Ap that you can download from the Apple Store for use with the iPad and you can buy books from Apple's upcoming iBook store. The iPad has tons of other features as well. Sony and Kindle watch out, Apple is coming through!
Apple will be releasing the 16GB Wi-Fi model for $499.99 in about 60 days and a 16GB 3G model for $629.99 in 90 days.In addition to these models, Apple will release 32GB and 64GB versions of the same models.
Below are the specs for the iPad:

With Apple leading the music industry with their iTunes store and iPods, people are sure to jump all over an iPad even if the price tag is a little pricey. That being said, consumers looking for a compact all in one web browsing, gaming and music device, this will be a darn good investment and gives people another option when investing in a Netbook. I would personally buy one of these just for the nice screen to game on with the iPhone games, the rest is just an added bonus.
Some people are anti-apple and will be bashing the iPad and blah-blah-blah but truth be told, the numbers do not lie. I mean hell music CD's are practically on their way out thanks to every one switching to digital music down loads and 9 times out of 10 people are using iTunes to purchase their music. So clearly the public has gone Apple with these kinds of devices. Me personally, I tend to keep an open mind, I use both Windows and Mac products and find Pros and Cons to both. I am excited to get my hands on an iPad and look forward to everything this puppy can do!
