Chavez Says Games are Poison, PS3 Motion Controller Coming This Fall, Beyond God of War 3, Assassin’s Creed 3 Update
From GamePolitics.com:
During his weekly Radio show, Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez took some time out to give his opinion on video games. It was not postive, to say the least.
"Those games they call 'PlayStation' are poison. Some games teach you to kill. They once put my face on a game, 'you've got to find Chavez to kill him.” (a reference to the game Mercenaries 2: World in Flames - during which you invade Venezuela)
The firebrand leftist president said any game that "bomb cities or just throw bombs," are sold by capitalist countries to sow violence so they can "later sell weapons.
Venezuelan lawmakers in October passed a law outlawing the sale of "bellicose" games and videogames that can be punished with up to five years imprisonment.”

"We approve"
What can I say? I believe that for every game that is set in Venezuela, there are just as many titles that feature the USA as the setting. Are we planning to attack Germany, because of all the WWII game releases? Of course not. But Venezuela is controlled by Chavez, and if he wants to control his country's entertainment, he can. I for one, am just glad I don’t live there.

Sony is saying that the PS3 Motion Controller will be ready for release this fall. The Playstation Eye Camera will be required for use, and it will be maketed together with the Dual Shock Controller.
"We have decided to release the Motion Controller in fall 2010 when we will be able to offer an exciting and varied line-up of software titles that will deliver the new entertainment experience to PS3 users, " said Kazuo Hirai, President and Group CEO, Sony Computer Entertainment Inc. "We will continue to work to have a comprehensive portfolio of attractive and innovative games for the Motion Controller, not only from SCE Worldwide Studios but also from the third party developers and publishers, whom we have been working closely with. We look forward to soon unveiling the exciting software line-up that further expands and defines the PS3 platform as the ultimate entertainment system for the home."

“Must resist... sexual reference joke...”
Looks like Sony wants a bigger piece of Nintendo’s Japanese sales, and is willing to copy them to do it. This controller is awsome news and here’s why: 3rd party developers might get a second chance to sell more copies of a game designed for a Wii. Sony owners may get access to bgames on the Wii that were previoulsy unavalable. Good times!

From Gamervision:
Due to it’s overwhelming success and quality, sony confirmed that this March’s release of God of War 3 for the PS3 was not going to be the last.
"This is not the end of God of War. This is definitely the end of the trilogy, but we're going to continue to do God of War games. We're going to be very careful about what we do; we're the keepers of the franchise and we don't want to see it ruined or polluted."
-John Hight, Sony Santa Monica Director of Product Development

Just like the Prince of Persia series, when games are this good, I want them to keep coming out. I’d always rather play a sequal to God of War, rather than play a knockoff that’s trying to pass itself off as something different.

Reported by ComputerAndVideoGames.com:
Assassins Creed 3 will star Ezio again as the main character, and is slated for release before 03/11. It’s even possible the game could be ready for a Christmas 2010 release.
"We have a new Assassin's Creed that we expect will be a very high quality product that as well as an offline component will have a multiplayer component," Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot said today.
"It is the same studios because it's not only one studio creating the game, but an association of studios and they are working together to make it happen."
A fellow Ubisoft spokesman then added: "The game will take place with the same hero, which is Ezio, and will follow-up the story that took place in Assassin's Creed 2."

Why not Desmond? I don’t like spoiling new titles, but if you have beaten Assassin’s Creed 2, it seemed clear that the next star of the story would be Desmond, in the present time. Could this be Ubisoft’s way of squeezing more sequals out of the series? I think so. The announcement of multiplayer features is great news—Assassin’s Creed would lend itself well to cooperative play. So overall I guess this is a plus.
