For those with a Nintendo DSi, you are in for a treat! Capcom today released Dark Void Zero for DSi Ware. This previously unreleased game is a prequel to Capcom's upcoming Dark Void on the PS3, PC and Xbox 360 due to hit store shelves tomorrow. Here is a little history behind Dark Void Zero:
Back in the 80's the Playchoice-10 arcade cabinet displayed games with two screens, knowing this Capcom wanted to design a game that would utilize the Playchoice-10 so they decided to develop a game called Dark Void. However, sadly due to the Playchoice-10 being discontinued, this left Dark Void hanging. Capcom looked into releasing Dark Void on the SNES but ultimately canceled the project. Now almost 20 years later Capcom dug up their concept for the original 8-bit Dark Void and decided to officially release it as Dark Void Zero for DSiWare on January 18, 2009 for 500 Wii Points.
In Dark Void Zero, the game play in my opinion is very reminiscent of Contra and the original Duke Nukum. You play as Rusty, the first human born in the void. Watchers are on a mission to take over the earth, however, they got one bad ass human standing in their way... Rusty. Throughout three action packed levels, you sport a jet back and some cool fire arms. With the help of Nikola Tesla, you will be well on your way to taking down the Watchers.
Any game that is a throw-back to old school gaming is an automatic play for me! Plus I am always fashinated when cancled games resurface =D I can't wait to download Dark Void Zero for DSi Ware.
