MCV, A highly reputable UK gaming industry source, has reported that the PS4 and Xbox 720 will be shown at E3 2012 this June.
"Obviously we can't reveal our sources." Said MCV's online editor Ben Parfitt. "But you have my personal word on this - the source is exemplary, 100% concrete, ultra high level."
By the statement above and original article MCV has received word from Sony and Microsoft regarding the unveiling through third party publishers. There is a good chance that both Sony and Microsoft will save these announcements for the end of their E3 2012 Press Conferences. It has been known that Microsoft is going to unveil Xbox 720 at E3 2012 but nobody was sure about Sony until now. Sony has stated that "we will not be left behind this time."
Editor-in-Chief Michael French told IGN: "This is very credible. Even if we don't see the hardware itself, or know a price or date, key publishers and developers are expecting some nod towards what direction PS4 will take at E3 this year. Sony isn't stupid - it knows that if Microsoft is planning to also say something about its next console, it can't be left behind."
With Nintendo unveiling new details on the Wii U along with Sony and Microsoft announceing there new systems, this year's show will be the year of future next generation consoles.
